Middle School

Welcome to Middle School Ministry

Messiah is a place where students make great friends, grow closer to Jesus, have fun and form a strong spiritual foundation. We’re all about connecting with students wherever they may be, making them feel welcomed, and pointing them toward Jesus. Come check us out on  on Sunday evenings for our youth night or at one of our awesome events or service opportunities!  We look forward to meeting you.

SUNDAY MORNINGS

KidsKonnect Happens During 8:30 am and 10:15 am Worships

We are excited to have you join us for KidsKonnect, our Sunday morning experience for students ages 3 years old-5th grade (Middle School and High School students are invited to be helpers). Students will begin in worship with their families and then during the Hymn of Praise, students will be invited to come with us over to the fellowship hall for music, story, hands on experiences and prayer. This will all happen during both worships. We hope your family will come and experience this new fun-filled time.

Middle School Youth Night

Sundays from 5-7  pm
6th – 8th Grade:
Our 6th-8th graders get to enjoy game time, snacks then move into large and small group times and end with reflection time, prayer and blessing.

Confirmation

Confirmation is a big part of the life of our students at Messiah because it is an important milestone in their lives. Confirmation is time for students to learn more about the Lutheran faith and grow in their faith in order to claim the baptismal promises their parents made for them as their own. Our confirmation is a two year ministry were students in 7th and 8th grade, as well as youth who are older and haven’t been confirmed yet, attend a weekly interactive class. Please email  Michelle Mote for more information. Middle School Youth Night is on Sundays from 5-7 pm.

Service

Students are encouraged to serve in the church community by ushering, reading, and communion assistant on Sunday mornings and being a part of our Easter, Journey to the Cross  and our Christmas Event, Night in Bethlehem. Middle School youth are also encouraged to apply and work as support staff for our 3-week summer camp called Camp Hope. In addition to Middle School Youth Night there are various events throughout the year, such as: lock ins, retreats at camp, service events and plenty of time for fellowship. Email Michelle for a calendar of events.

Confirmation Sunday

On the first Sunday in May, we worship together where all students come forward to profess their faith and claim it as their own. Families and baptismal sponsors are invited to place their hand on their shoulders as we bless each student.
